Capacity Buillding
GSKI USA CAPACITY BUILDING
GSKI USA strengthens stakeholders’ ability to collaborate for mutual benefit by providing resources, skills, and tools needed to solve problems and address societal issues. This includes building multiple level interventions to increase the capacity for effective governance and management.
Why focus on capacity building?
GSKI USA views capacity development as a process of improvement that leads to a greater scope of activity, increased efficiency, and optimizes the quality of services offered to achieve positive impacts for service recipients and Society. GSKI USA perceives capacity building as a long-term effort to promote and support expanding humanitarian services, sustainable behaviours, and improved environments. This framework guides the efforts of GSKI USA and its partners to operate, collaborate, and interact with the external environment.
capacity building includes:
-
Fundraising:
Fundraising is necessary so that resources are available and to support long-term sustainability. This includes offering staff, volunteers and stakeholders training in fundraising techniques and fiscal management. -
Self-Development & Recruiting Expertise:
GSKI USA helps its volunteers to develop their personal skills and to identify others who have important expertise to add. These efforts increase volunteer retention and help the organization find and utilize expertise available in the community. These efforts can promote organizational stability and increase available resources without increasing operating costs.
-
Partnerships& Participation:
Partnering with and increasing participation by service recipients increases input and helps reinforce the idea that the people who benefit from GSKI USA understand the challenges they face and how to best address them. Listening to and helping child and youth develop an effective voice is a critical function of GSKI
-
Clarity and Relevance:
Building clearly defined interventions and visions is critical to formulating and managing an overall strategy for improving performance that guides and makes GSKI USA service relevance sustainable.
