Advocacy for Children
Through a global and coordinated advocacy strategy, we believe that we can multiply the scope of our impacts beyond program funding and technical support to influence national and international policies.
At GSKI USA, we advocate to advance the rights and priorities of children, street-connected childrenand youth at risk. We work with partners at grassroots, national, regional, and global levels to promote initiatives that arealigned with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
GSKI USAadvocacy programmes enables greater impact and increased accountability for commitments to fight poverty and inequality. Our advocacy focuses on tackling deeply entrenched inequities which impact marginalized children, and street-connected children and youth at risk. Central to our advocacy core mission is providing voice to enable themto be heard.
Protracted humanitarian crises, the climate emergency, and COVID-19 have increased negative impacts on children, street- connected children and youth at risk. It has made GSKI USA’s focus on them even more critical.GSKI USAworks across humanitarian, development, and peace-building contexts to advance social justice and promote rights for children, street-connected children and youth at risk.
We look forward to working with our many partners to achieve much-needed breakthroughs in two key focus areas:
- Advancing voice, leadership and support for the diversity of children, street-connected children and youth at riskin crisis.
- Bringing forward programmes which include COVID-19 responses and other supports across the globe for children, street-connected and youth at risk.
Through Advocacy Programmes, we aim to accomplish the following:
- Give voice to calls for social, educational sponsorship and climate justice for children.
- Make systems and policies more responsive to the priorities and needs of children and youth at risk.
- Increase accountability amongst those responsible for upholding rights of children.
